An Appeal on behalf of The Lord Mayor of Bristol's Hospital Extension Fund, by Sir Francis N. Cowlin

The Bristol Hospitals Council, which represents all the leading Medical Institutions in the city, after careful consideration decided that a minimum sum of £250,000 is necessary for reconstruction and additions to the Voluntary Hospitals, including an amount of £90,000 for approved capital expenditure already incurred. It was agreed, in the interests of economy and efficiency, that one combined effort should be made on behalf of all the hospitals in the city, thus preventing overlapping and difficulty in deciding between conflicting appeals, and this effort is known as the Lord Mayor's Hospitals Extension Fund.
