The present Church was built in 1875 after the earlier building proved too small owing to the rapid development of the town. The Member of Parliament for that period, the late Mr. Ellis Eyton, presented the Trustees with the site. In 1925 the Church celebrated its Jubilee by renovating the Church building and by installing a Pipe Organ.
