'Hurdy Gurdy' had a long and popular run as a feature in which popular songs, old and new, were sung, and during the summer months 'Holiday Harmony' with the sounds of a band on the pier in the distance took its place. This summer feature lingered on until the end of September, but it could not face the cold winds of October and a more intimate setting has been devised in which to present favourite songs
The feature is described as a The Chantant or Tea with Music, and the keynote will be given by the topical number 'Won't you stay to tea?' This will be followed by a hunt through the family album and the producer, Francis Worsley, will go through the album with the cast. Each of the portraits displayed will suggest a song of the period and as the portraits are recognised, so one of the cast will remember what his or her favourite song used to be.
The programmes, however, will not be confined to the strange and faded photographs so often to be found in family albums. Modern photographs and snapshots will also have their place, and after the album has been closed a modern member of the gathering will insist on singing a very up-to-date song.
