Truth which is stranger than fiction, told in play form by John Wyndham

Though born in London, Doctor Dee was by origin a Welshman. A man of great accomplishments, he was a scientist, mathematician, adviser to the famous explorers of his time, and even a secret confidant of Queen Elizabeth. But he was feared and hated by the ignorant, mistrusted by the courtiers, and an object of jealousy to other learned men.

Was he a magician, or an impostor, or a spy - or a little of all three? Certainly everyone considered him a very queer person.
