C. G. 0. Wakeford is a native of Barry, Glamorgan. For the last ten years he has been on the staff of the South Wales Argus. Like most journalists, he is a man of wide interests, his principal ones being music, drama, and swimming.
He has broadcast in this Saturday news-commentary feature, 'Around and About', on several occasions since September, 1936, and last July he gave an eye-witness account from Cardiff of the ceremony, when the King and Queen opened the Coronation-year tour of Wales at the Newport Civic Centre-the first official visit ever paid to Newport by a reigning monarch and his queen.
