The members of this band, originally known as the Llanelly Public Band, joined the Pembroke Yeomanry in 1914. After the war the band was re-formed, and all the players who returned, together with other ex-Servicemen, made up the Llanelly Silver Band. It is not surprising that the combination was popularly termed the 'Demobbed '.
In 1936 the band competed at the Crystal Palace, and was successful in winning the Dies Shield and a cash prize of fifty pounds.
