The Wilfrid Greene Sextette from the Alhambra Theatre, Glasgow
The Alhambra, one of Glasgow's largest theatres, is most noted for its presentation during the winter months of the big musical-comedy shows that frequently open here before the critical Glasgow public as a ' try-out ' prior to West-End production in London. It has successfully featured during past years a 'Revels' summer-time show, aiming at speed, laughter, and music for its appeal.
Eddie Leslie , who appears at the top of this bill, has appeared in the ' Revels ' before, when he was partnered by Jane Ayr. When that season's show ended, they did a large number of broadcasts as entertainers along with Lou Preager 's Band, which had appeared in the same show. This year's 'Revels' are heard here for the first time and promise a different type of show from the old Alhambra summer-time tradition.
