The eighth edition of this popular revue, which is generally taken up with replies to out-of-the-way questions, will be devoted to a General Knowledge competition occupying the whole half-hour. 
The six brave men and women to whom the questions will be put are all well-known broadcasters. George Rowntree Harvey and Christine Crowe are journalists, Louise Donald is a school-teacher, Norman North is a business man, Jimmy Ross is a well-known pianist, and Dr. Douglas Simpson is librarian at King's College Library, Aberdeen. 
For this evening's competition two hundred tricky questions have been prepared by Alan Melville. Each competitor will call out a number at random and will have to answer the corresponding question. If he should fail, the question will then be put to the members of the audience that will be present in the studio tonight. 
Alan Melville is a BBC programme assistant in Aberdeen. Though still a young man he has in the past been a prolific writer of detective stories, but nowadays most of his time is taken up with the preparation of broadcast feature programmes. He has been responsible for the production of programmes about the fishing industry in Lossiemouth, the Kenmay granite quarries, and the Gordon Highlanders on Deeside. Much of his best work has been done with the aid of the BBC recording van.
