The Rev P. Stanley Eley, who conducts the service, is well known to listeners as a broadcast speaker on football topics. When he came to Scotland in 1926, the Scottish Alliance put him on its list of referees, and for three seasons he was regularly engaged by the League. Mr. Eley, who is minister of Wardlaw Congregational Church, Glasgow, has given a large number of popular addresses with such titles as 'Keeping Goal', 'Sportsmanship', 'The First Eleven', and 'Sport and Character'.
