The scenes arranged and produced for the microphone by Anthony MacDonald
A day before the opening of the first Birmingham production of Victoria Regina at the Prince of Wales Theatre, the London company, with Pamela Stanley and Paul von Hernried as Victoria and Albert, respectively, comes to the Birmingham studios to give some scenes from this famous play. Formed of nine out of the forty-two short plays which Housman wrote around Queen Victoria, this play was first produced privately at the Gate Theatre, London, and then in New York, where it has been running for over two years. Official permission for its public performance in this country was granted on the 100th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession.
