WORTLEY ALLEN is well known for his character sketches from Dickens, which are hoard frequently from the Birmingham studios. He is also an experienced amateur actor and has taken many interesting parts. Perhaps his most amusing rôle was ' Bottom ' in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
When full-length plays were broadcast from the Midlands, he was often cast for the part of a garrulous old man. He has written several of his own character sketches.
