A programme with no ' 'foreigners' expressing the character and life of the people on the East Coast, from recordings made on the spot last week
Arranged by Edward Allen and Ian Cox
Compere, Ivan Pullen
Here is a country programme in which all the contributors are local men. Ted Allen , who is already well known for his broadcasts on wild-fowling, brought some of his friends to the microphone of the BBC's recording van last week to give the inside story of life on the marshy shore of Essex. It is from records that were made then that the present programme is compiled. You will hear about smuggling, local farming, ghosts, wild fowling, and a good deal else, including some brilliant imitations of the calls of wild birds.
