Elizabeth Macpherson
In a broadcast last week listeners heard exactly what happens in the West-End of London between the time' when a play is selected and the time when it is produced. In her entertaining talk todayMrs. Elizabeth Macpherson is to tell listeners what transpires between the planning of a dance and concert in the wilds of the Highlands and the night of the entertainment.
They will hear how necessity is the mother of invention; how the gillie, who alone possesses a motorbike, acts as courier ; how someone is found to rig up a stage and foot-lights in the barn ; how another is roped in, capable of making the bills and programmes ; how the refreshments are provided by volunteers ; and how the performers are selected and the pianist turns up in the nick of time..... As Mrs. Macpherson says, there is plenty to do in the country.
