Female Voices—1
During the past few weeks, famous singers of the past, and those who beard them, have come to the studio at this time on Tuesday afternoons to talk about the ' Golden Age of Singing' and to play records of some of its great voices.
Popular opinion usually holds that as far as the art of singing goes, the past is better than the present, but Francis Toye will show in his six broadcasts how good contemporary singing can be.
In his first three programmes he will play records of outstanding women singers, while the remainder will be devoted to m-n. Most of the varying styles of vocal music will be included in the series.
