' The One-Maid Household'
Edna Thorpe
Today's broadcast in this series on the domestic service problem is to be given by a woman who was always hearing her friends complain of the difficulty of getting and keeping a reliable maid, and always being told by maids how difficult it was to find a mistress they could get on with. And so she spent nearly a year working as a daily help in different places in order to see things from both sides.
In this very practical talk she will try to put her finger on what is wrong, both with maid and with mistress-and very often with the house. She will also summarise for the benefit of listeners some of the things that she has noticed in successful partnerships between mistress and maid.
