An Oratorio in Three Parts
German Text by GOTTFRIED BENN
English Translation by ROSE SCOTT and CYRIL SCOTT
Parts I and 2 PAUL HINDEMITH has composed a great deal of music in all forms, but his two most ambitious works to date are the opera Cardillac (which British audiences have not yet heard) and this ' oratorio ' Das Unaufhörliche (The Perpetual). It was first performed in Berlin, November, 1931, and first broadcast in this country at a B.B.C. Symphony Concert in March, 1933. It is in traditional oratorio form, solos, choruses, etc,, and is in three parts and eighteen numbers.
