6: Meanwhile in Hungary tA talk by DR JOHN ERICKSON
Department of Government University of Manchester
Was there a link between the Hungarian and Middle East crises of 1956? Dr. Erickson has examined the available evidence and argues that the return of Russian troops to Budapest was an independent decision by the Soviet Government which had little or nothing to do with the events of Suez.

A radio version by Alexander Reid of the novel
The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner by JAMES HOGG with Bryden Murdoch
Tom Watson and Frank Duncan
In his novel James Hogg turned the mental aberration of a fanatic not only into a progressively gripping story but also into a study of split personality far ahead of its time. Set in Scotland early in the eighteenth century, the story is one of doubtful legitimacy, Calvinist principles, hatred, and murder.
