THE JUSTIFIED SINNER

on Network Three

A radio version by Alexander Reid of the novel
The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner by JAMES HOGG with Bryden Murdoch
Tom Watson and Frank Duncan
In his novel James Hogg turned the mental aberration of a fanatic not only into a progressively gripping story but also into a study of split personality far ahead of its time. Set in Scotland early in the eighteenth century, the story is one of doubtful legitimacy, Calvinist principles, hatred, and murder.
