The rather isolated province of Kalch lies just to the south of Pakistan on the west coast of India. It has given its name to a form of song called Katchi Kafl , which is unique in having a shawm in addition to the usual accompaniment. In this programme John Levy introduces recordings he has made in Katch, including an example of Naubat drumming.

Michael Sullivan considers changing attitudes to Chinese painting in the light of the current Arts Council Exhibition in London, Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the collection of John M. Crawford Jr.
