Work in the world of science
ANODISING by J. W. Cuthbertson , D.Sc., F.I.M. and E. G. West , Ph.D., F.I.M.
Anodising is a process akin to electroplating by which the natural invisible film of oxide on aluminium is thickened to give a surface with many interesting properties. It protects the metal, acts as an electrical insulator, and can be dyed attractive colours.
The speakers discuss recent research on this unique process.
