This is the first of four extracts from the record of a meeting of a Study Group of the Society for Psychosomatic Research at which Miss Freud answered questions put to her by children's specialists; but, as she says, most difficulties with crying babies do not arrive at the paediatrician's door - they are fought out in the family.
