Mr. E. L. WOODWARD :' Franco '—II
Last week Mr. Woodward analyzed the deep-rooted desire of France for security from external danger. Tonight he reveals the general character of French political life and the political situation today. The Third Republic, under whose forms France is now governed, is little over fifty years old. Its ministers and officials have had to defend it against critics within the country who. organized in minority groups, have not accepted the republican organization as either ideal or final. A rapid survey of the political changes in modern French history provides the key to the proper understanding of modem French politics.
