Worms have doubtless been 'turning' since the first moment of their creation, but they have shown increasing activity since the upheaval of the Great War. Restlessness and dissatisfaction have appeared on all and it is not surprising that the extracts for this Facet programme all come from post-war dramatic literature. The last two Facet programmes ('The Weaker Vessel') seemed to point to a weakening of man's forceful-ness. Is this new spurt of activity a sign of the 'worm's' determination to recapture his lost masculine prestige?
