Conductor, Warwick Braithwaite
The Action begins in the Court-yard of an Old Country Inn, by Mrs. Waters. Benn, the ex-boatswain, has got his eyes on the Inn (not forgetting Mrs. Waters) and decides that it is time he settled down.
Ned Travers, his friend, enters the scene, and together they concoct a simple plot with, of course, Benn as the hero. In Act II, we see the plan in action, how Benn is fooled, and how Travers comes into his own.
