THE old churches of Finchley and Hendon are both mediæval buildings with interesting architectural features, but Hendon Church was transformed by its incorporaticn, Home years ago, into a great new building. There is now a danger that the character of Finchley Church-one of the last ' village churches ' surviving within the ever-widening area if London-may be similarly altered, so this talk by Mr. Allen. Walker, the well-known lecturer on the architecture and antiquities of London, comes at a particularly opportune moment.

BIOLOGY, in what may be called its social aspect, is very much in the public eye just now, and the subject of heredity has attracted a vast amount of research in recent years. Not only is Mrs. Adams an expert on heredity, but as a lecturer in biology under the Cambridge University Board of Extra Mural Studies, with much experience of taking biology classes for working people, she knows how to treat this important scientific topic in an attractive way.
