The funeral is over and Dr. and Mrs. Dale have returned from King's Acre. bringing Flora with them. Dr. Robertson and Roddy had a temporary reconciliation while they both worked on a difficult confinement, but they have already had further trouble. Dr. Robertson lost his temper and Dr. Dale remonstrated with him. Mrs. Dale has learned that the Council plan to develop St. Peter's Road. and she is concerned because this will involve David and Gwen's house. Sheila Draycott has had her driving licence suspended and is finding this very inconvenient.
