Dales went up to Exton for a visit and met William Elliot , an important local man and factory owner. Johnnie Harvill stayed away from the shop because of illness; while she was alone Mrs. Freeman was coshed' and money stolen. She was not badly hurt, but Mrs. Dale began to worry a great deal about leaving her mother when they moved.
