Gordon Campbell is by now fairly certain that he knows the identity of The Singing Spider, but the skipper of the wrecked German Klondyker, who can confirm his suspicions, is shot as he is about to disclose the name of the spy. As the police rush into the room, Campbell makes the mistake of picking up the revolver which has been thrown in the open window.
