Maud French moved into the nursing home and kept Mrs. Freeman running errands for her. She became very annoyed with Dr. Dale when he told her she was eating too much rich food. Mrs. Freeman found out from Elsie that Mrs. Bell Norton had been spreading insinuations that she and Gwen had sold the raffled refrigerator to Mr. O'Malley, and Mrs. Freeman had bought hers on the proceeds. Todhunter took a whole tin of ' Sleeptite ' because of his worries and fell asleep behind the counter of Henry's shop.
