Vicky found she could not face having the eye operation. Many attempts to persuade her failed, but finally she agreed to go through with it. Mrs. Dale and Isobel Fielding took her to the Nursing Home. Mrs. Freeman was happy to be back in her flat. She went to the Shamrock for Captain's birthday tea-party, to which Elsie turned up uninvited. Dr. Claughton upset the Fieldings by dropping out of a window a jug, which fell through their greenhouse.
