True stories of the world we live In
16—'THE DRAGONFLY
FERRY'
When the Norwegian ship Dovrefiell ran aground in a gale in the Pentland Firth she radioed that she was in no immediate danger, but lifeboats and a destroyer went to her aid. Suddenly the signal ' situation dangerous' was received, and a new chapter in the history of saving life at sea began. Helicopters hovered above the waves breaking over the ship and rescued all forty-one aboard her.
