Mrs. Dale was told by the solicitor that the amount of her legacy had finally been settled. She wanted to put the money towards a house for Bob and Jenny. Ivor discussed the problem of finding a better place for Joanna to live, and Bob suggested the flat in Mr. Popkin's house. Mrs. Mountford told Mrs. Dale that she wanted to spend a holiday at the villa.
