Mrs. Freeman decided that she would move downstairs and change rooms with Mrs. Morgan. Ivor took Janet to see the Popkins' flat, suggesting that she might share it with Joanna. The next day Joanna and Janet went to look at it together. A letter arrived from Rosa to tell Mrs. Dale that the villa was near collapse. Mrs. Date gave a party for the residents of Brinscombe House.
