Commentary on the second half of one of today's Sixth Round matches
As competitors undergo the final driving test at Blackpool, Raymond Baxter describes the scene and reports some of the highlights of the event.
The fourth R.A.C. International Rally of Great Britain started from Blackpool and Hastings on Tuesday, and after 2,000 miles of assorted motoring on the highways and byways of Britain, culminates in this final test on the sea front at Blackpool. A full complement of 240 competitors has entered, and the list includes a strong challenge from Germany with Volkswagen and Porsche cars. Progress of the Continental competitors will be followed with keen interest and will be met by a full strength reply from most of the outstanding Rally drivers of this country.
