Dr. and Mrs. Dale had their first serious quarrel for many years, when Mrs. Dale refused to give up her activities against the Parkwood Lodge Housing scheme. Mrs. Mountford was indignant at not being elected to the Protest Committee. Although Mrs. Freeman's letter to Mrs. Cunningham caused a quarrel between her and Sally, it bad the desired effect and Mrs. Cunningham settled her account in cash; Mrs. Freeman bought three dozen scarves from a traveller w:th the money Bob became iealous of Clive Maxton and was very angry when he learned rha' Maxton had forbidden members of the company to have private telephone calls at the theatre. Gwen discovered Mr Capon lying unconscious in his shop He was taken to hospital with pneumonia. When he had recovered slightly, he wrote to Sally asking her to find someone to look after the shop in the mornings.
