The ten readings, which Mr. Sherriff himself has arranged from his novel, will spread over two weeks. The holiday-makers in the story are not rich people, nor do they meet with the sort of adventure that changes the course of people's lives. What happens is-a a holiday: no more but no less. They needed a holiday, they looked forward to it, they enjoyed it, and they learn more from it about themselves and about each other than they knew before. They are the better for it.
