Philip Marryat , with his new assistant Colin Parker , was determined to build a bridge linking two of the fields on his farm; his beautiful wife Elizabeth, on whose money Philip was dependent, opposed the idea. When they went ahead with the bridge, something happened that was to change all their lives.
