Appeal on behalf of St. Loyes College for the Training and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Exeter, and Queen Elizabeth's Training College for the Disabled by Peter Scott , C.B.E., D.S.C.
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to [address removed]
A joint appeal is being made because the objects of both Colleges are the same, and they were founded largely through the inspiration and work of the late Dame Georgiana Buller. These pioneer undertakings have retained their -voluntary status. Although aided by the State, each College has to raise a large sum of money annually to cover capital expenditure and cost of amenities, and to meet the need for further essential developments.
To date, well over 6,000 men, women, and juveniles, suffering from all types of physical disability, have become skilled workers after training in some twenty-five different trades or occupations, and have taken their place in open industry. The Colleges are national undertakings, trainees being admitted from all over the British Isles.

Lopez's election campaign has ended in failure, and worse than failure. The Duke of Omnium having stated categorically in the Silverbridbe Gazette that he, the Duke, favoured no special candidate, the Liberal bigwigs of the town, alienated by Lopez's stand-offish manner, have all transferred their allegiance to another Liberal candidate. Lopez, in consequence, has been forced to retire from the contest. In his fury he has attempted to horse-whip Arthur Fletcher in the streets of Silverbridge, and this has led to his appearance before the magistrates there.
