Mr. Jayawardene, Minister of Finance in Ceylon, speaks as an Asian about the Commonwealth. His own city, Colombo, has already given its name to the Plan which expresses world interest in the problems of the awakened East. Ceylon is the youngest Dominion and one of the ancient societies of Asia, geographically detached and yet representative of the non-British members of the Commonwealth.
