based on the British Lion film
' You will remember '
Produced by Douglas Moodie
Leslie Stuart 's real name was Tom Barratt , and he was born in one of the poorer districts of Manchester. But his career was full of colour, from the early struggles through the period when the whole country was singing his songs-' Soldiers of the Queen' and ' Little Dolly Day-dream ' as well as the immortal ' Lily of Laguna '-to the sadder days when his popularity faded and his fortune vanished.
The new British film emphasises the romantic side of the composer's life and his friendship with famous stars of the stage, such as Ellaline Terriss and Eugene Stratton.
