On 23 October 1984, Bob Geldof was horrified by a report from famine-struck Ethiopia. He picked up the phone to friend and fellow musician Midge Ure and proposed they write a charity song: Band Aid was born. Ure recalls the extraordinary day when pop stars came together to record Do They Know It's Christmas?, and talks to some of those who took part.
