Tim Frazer has discovered that Vivien Gilmore is a member of the organisation controlled by the unknown Ericson. Vivien Gilmore arranges a deal between Ericson and Frazer and asks Frazer to meet her at a house in Maida Vale. At the house Frazer discovers the body of Gordon Dempsey. Later, on returning home, Frazer is confronted by an unexpected caller.
