A programme about Barristers and Solicitors.
Written and produced by Richard Cawston.

In response to intense public interest -a second opportunity to see the programme which took viewers behind the scenes of the legal profession for the first time. This major documentary was filmed in actual locations throughout England and Wales; it contains no actors.

'The entire cast, which included ninety barristers and solicitors, were as real as a bill of costs, but their acting was brilliant'. (Maurice Richardson, The Observer)
'...acres of print couldn't convey the feel of the profession one half so well'. (Maurice Wiggin, The Sunday Times)
'An impressive study of the Law'. (Yorkshire Post)
'We congratulate the BBC...' (The Solicitors' Journal)
"... an absorbing film of the day. to-day working life of practising barristers and solicitors... an uncharted tea to many of us'. (Daily Telegraph)

Diving in the Indian Ocean, Hans and Lotte Hass and their party bring up various animals to study on board the Xarifa. There are living corals-what limits the depth at which they can build reefs? There is a spider crab which fixes on its own camouflage; and there are families of clown fish living in sea anemones and illustrating nature's ruthless system of survival by competition.
Directed and produced by Hans Hass in association with the BBC Natural History Unit
Last shown in August 1960

[Starring] Ursula Howells, Nigel Stock with Pamela Alan, Anthony Oliver, Frederick Jaeger

Home has many meanings; a refuge from strain, the start of 'growing up'; the source of compassion and understanding. When these are lost there is desolation, but if they are fought for, no matter with what human frailty, life may grow again out of a new wisdom.
