The Brookwood Memorial unveiled by Her Majesty the Queen
The memorial has been built by the Imperial War Graves Commission to commemorate 3,500 men and women of the Armies of the Commonwealth who died during the 1939-1945 War, at sea in missions mounted from the United Kingdom or on active service outside the main theatres of war, and who have no known grave.
During the Service of Dedication the 355,000 who lost their lives during the war while serving in the Armies of the Commonwealth will be remembered in prayer.
