This dramatised documentary shows some of the work of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children through the eyes of one of its Inspectors.
The care of children is shared by a number of voluntary organisations and statutory bodies, but last year the N.S.P.C.C. alone helped no fewer than a hundred thousand children.
