A series of documentary programmes which opens the case-book of Scotland Yard and presents authentic stories of modern crime detection.

The story of a murder, apparently without a clue, unpremeditated, and followed by meticulous skill in concealment, but solved because the whole resources of Scotland Yard are ever mobilised to discover the circumstances in which a solitary, and perhaps not very important life may end.

Madame Tussaud died exactly a hundred years ago. Tonight viewers hear the story of her famous waxworks, and how her idea grew into its present international exhibition.
The story is told by Richard Dimbleby and Reginald Edds and illustrated by models, relics, and ancient documents from the exhibition.
Max Robertson is in the modelling studio to find out how the figures are made.
The programme includes an unveiling ceremony of the three latest exhibits to the waxworks, Joy Nichols, Jimmy Edwards, and Dick Bentley.
