At this time of the year gales and storms lashing the coasts of Britain throw a heavy strain on the men responsible for keeping the thousands of lighthouses, lightships, and navigation buoys in order.
Tonight, during a visit with Richard Dimbleby to a factory in West London, viewers see some of the men who build and maintain navigation lights, watch them at work, and learn something of the skill and care that go toward making the sea safe for shipping.
