Trevor's Album Of The Week is the self-titled solo debut from Teddy Pendergrass (1977). Theodore "Teddy" DeReese Pendergrass Sr. (born 26 March 1950) is an American R&B/soul singer and songwriter, also known as Teddy P, TP, or Teddy Bear. He began his musical career as a drummer, before becoming lead vocalist with the Blue Notes, then embarking upon a solo career in 1976 and recording five consecutive multi-platinum albums.

Series contrasting original genuine soul with contemporary hip-hop and neo-R&B. Tonight's show features an album spotlight on the self-titled work Teddy 
Pendergrass (1977) - the first of several big-selling solo LPs by the smooth R&B/soul/pop crooner who previously achieved fame as the lead singer of Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes (If You Don't Know Me by Now, Wake Up Everybody (Part 1) and Don't Leave Me This Way).
