The series explores dance scenes across the UK, encompassing northern soul, funk, rare groove, hip-hop, prog house, techno and drum 'n' bass, featuring dance-floor luminaries such as Sasha, 
Russ Winstanley , Ian Levine , Fabio, Norman Jay , Jazzie B and Paul Oakenfold. The story starts with 1970s northern soul - with Wigan Casino its mecca - and swiftly proceeds to the 1980s with the emerging national soul scene, spearheaded by DJ/promoter/ club owner Nicky Holloway , who serves as consultant to the series.
