Joanna Lumley celebrates the life and career of sitcom veteran June Whitfield , who is 80 on Friday. Among Whitfield's numerous television and radio milestones are the 50s wireless hit Take It from Here and her on-screen romantic pairings with Terry Scott in both Happy Ever After (1974-78) and Terry and June (1979 -87). But perhaps most celebrated of all is Whitfield's category-defining turn as Jennifer Saunders's reluctant mother in Absolutely Fabulous, in which she has appeared alongside tonight's interviewer Joanna Lumley since 1992. Featuring warm tributes and anecdotes from Bruce Forsyth, Roy Hudd, Rolf Harris, Julian Clary, Frank Thornton, Liz Fraser, Miriam Karlin, Bill Cotton and David Jacobs.
