Joanna Lumley celebrates the life and career of sitcom veteran June Whitfield , who is 80 on Friday. Among Whitfield's numerous television and radio milestones are the 50s wireless hit Take It from Here and her on-screen romantic pairings with Terry Scott in both Happy Ever After (1974-78) and Terry and June (1979 -87). But perhaps most celebrated of all is Whitfield's category-defining turn as Jennifer Saunders's reluctant mother in Absolutely Fabulous, in which she has appeared alongside tonight's interviewer Joanna Lumley since 1992.
